Help & FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What does the mood tell me?
The mood reflects the overall risk picture of a stock based on its recent price behaviour. A calmer mood means fewer concerning signals. A worse mood means more things are looking problematic. It's a quick, clear starting point β not a final answer.
How is the mood calculated?
We run each stock through our proprietary scoring system which analyses price behaviour across multiple dimensions. The results are distilled into one of five mood states β from Zen to Furious. The exact methodology is proprietary.
What does the Mood Swing arrow mean?
It shows whether a stock's mood improved or worsened compared to the previous week. A green arrow means things are looking better. An amber arrow means slightly worse but still in the same category. A red arrow means it has moved into a more serious mood band β the highest signal move to watch.
What do the coloured dots mean?
Each dot represents one of our risk signals. Green means that signal looks healthy. Amber means caution. Red means that signal is flagging a concern. Tap any dot to see what it's measuring and what the current reading is.
How often is the data updated?
Data is refreshed at least weekly. The last update date is always shown in the navigation bar at the top of the page.
Does a Danger Zone mood mean I should sell?
No. Mood scores reflect price behaviour, not investment advice. A Danger Zone stock may still represent an opportunity depending on your strategy and timeframe. StockPanda helps you see risk signals quickly β the decision is always yours.
Which exchanges are covered?
S&P 500 (US), FTSE 100 (UK), Hang Seng (Hong Kong), and Nikkei 225 (Japan) β covering over 870 stocks across four of the world's major markets.
Why is it called StockPanda?
StockPanda is short for Stock Pictures and Analysis. The panda face is the mood signal β a picture that tells you the risk story at a glance. Five expressions, from smiling to furious, map directly to the five risk states. Simple, memorable, and works across any market or language.
